SB Lite has recently worked with Sheffield band, The SSS for their sell out headline gig at the Leadmill. The band had a clear design concept from the start wanting to incorporate long LED bars to create a set piece at the back of the stage with some moving heads attached to truss’s giving the beams.
SB Lite was to provide 4x Intimidator 355Z moving heads, 12m of box truss and over 50m of LED along side cables on control systems. The truss was split into 3m sections and mounted on base plates; the moving heads and LED sticks were then attached to these.
After initial discussions we created a 3D render of the set for the band to see. We then used our ‘Capture’ facilities to pre-program all the lighting before getting to the venue. The lighting was designed in house along side band drummer, Max Smith. Our capture facilities allowed us to work along side Max to program all the chases and effects out or base prior to going in the venue.
Once in the venue and the equipment was setup it was a simple job to fine-tune the pallets to the venue. The show was programmed on our custom Chamsys console keeping the costs down for the band.
